Popcorn SalesEvery fall the pack sells Boy Scout popcorn to raise funds to supplement the dues that we collect from our members every year. Dens from our pack set up tables outside local establishments and places where local neighbors frequent and the Cubs themselves do the selling (with adult leaders present, of course).
Selling takes place from the middle of August through the end of October, depending on how fast we hit our target for the year. Many Cub Scouts tell us how much they enjoy selling popcorn! They practice communications skills, learn about marketing and salesmanship, and gain self-confidence, all in a safe, controlled environment. Many of the people buying popcorn stop to tell us how much Scouting has meant to them, their children, and their communities. |
