Join Scouting Night/Parent Orientation
Every year we welcome new boys and their families into our Pack. For many families, this is their first exposure to Scouting, while for others it is the continuation of a tradition that comes from older siblings or spans multiple generations in their family. While most boys join Cub Scouts in the first and second grade, the Pack welcomes boys of any age up to, and including, the fifth grade. Every year we have new boys join Dens from every grade – and they quickly are welcomed into their new Den.
Join Scouting Night gives parents the ability to hear more about the program in a short, but information-laden session. They can meet the leaders of the Pack, and ask questions about the program goals, time commitment (very reasonable), and how we strive to create a fun and adventurous – but at the same time safe – environment.
We also form Dens for the new boys for the coming year at Join Scouting Night. Frequently boys who are friends join together, and the program allows them to be in the same Den right from the start. At the same time, boys who join individually will quickly find a welcoming, supportive group of new friends in his Den.
