Blue & Gold Banquet
The Blue & Gold Banquet is the program highlight of the year! Celebrating the anniversary (birthday) of the Scouting program, the Blue & Gold banquet is held every year in late February or early March at the Waples Mill Elementary School cafeteria.
The banquet is fully catered, with a menu that usually includes salad, pasta, chicken, vegetables, and, of course, a giant Cub Scout birthday cake!
As of 2015, all of our rank advancement was moved to the June bridging ceremony at the campout, leaving the Blue & Gold to be an event for celebration and fun. First, our Webelos II Scouts are given a formal send-off to Boy Scouts. That “graduation” is followed by an evening of songs and skits by the boys, music and song, and then a treat provided by professional entertainment. It is truly an evening filled with fun and laughter.
